Otter Wax Leather Salve

Temporary darkening  and a hazy appearance may occur after applying this treatment to your leather item. This is completely normal and your leather will lighten back to original coloration within a few days while any hazy appearance is easily buffed out. To maintain a uniform coloration and appearance we recommend always treating the entire leather item.

• • Use a soft lint-free cloth to create a small divot in the center of tin.
  • Press and swirl cloth until the consistency of the Salve is soft and smooth.
  • Begin by applying Salve to a small section of leather using smooth circular motions.
  • Move onto the next area and continue until you have applied treatment to the entire item.
  • Allow apx. 20-40 minutes for the treatment to absorb into the pores of the leather.
  • When a waxy haze has developed on the surface of the leather and it feels dry to the touch, use a soft lint-free cloth to buff away any haze and create a uniform appearance.
  • Reapply as often as necessary.
  • Follow up with Otter Wax Boot Wax, Armstrong's Boot Wax Black, or Armstrong's Boot Wax Brown
