Named for the figures and landmarks that have helped make Milwaukee what it is today, our boots are a hand-crafted nod to our city’s wealth of industry and work ethic. They’re made for those who crave real craftsmanship. Those who work hard and are fearless when it comes to failure. For those who hold on to true grit, determination, and will be damned if their boots don’t follow suit.
The first leather tannery in the city of Milwaukee opened in 1842 and throughout the next several decades, our city became the largest leather manufacturing center in the world. The city was responsible for creating everything from boots and saddles to jackets and materials for the Civil War. Leather is in Milwaukee’s roots and it’s in ours too. Our family has been handcrafting shoes and tanning leather for four generations and counting.
We’ve been handcrafting leather goods for other brands for decades in our family owned and operated leather tannery and factories in Chennai, India. After four generations, we finally decided to bring that same craftsmanship and quality to the market directly. We knew there was no better place to start than here in our city of Milwaukee, where our corporate headquarters is still located today.
In 2019 we opened our flagship retail store right here in our neighborhood, historical Walker’s Point, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Within a year we added e-commerce and made our products available nationwide. In the years that followed, we expanded beyond our roots in Milwaukee and Chennai to Japan, Europe, Dubai and more. And we’re just getting started.
We’re a small team with a big work ethic, and we make no exceptions when it comes to quality. Like many of you, we believe that good things take time. We adhere to the proverbial saying “haste makes waste.” We take pride in the amount of time it takes to make each boot, something that fast-fashion will never understand.
